Was War of the Flowers worth it? I saw mixed reviews on Amazon so didn't bother, but I am a little curious what real people think ;)

I wasn't as impressed as I have been by other Tad Williams books - so I'm glad I got it out of the library (we probably will buy the paperback when it comes out, though). I got a bit annoyed by the characters being dumber than I thought was necessary, and I wasn't so keen on the ending. Having said that - I did enjoy reading it, wanted to know what happened next etc and liked the world he'd constructed.

I felt a little like it was Tad's attempt at writing a Neil Gaiman book, although it was clearly still by him. I enjoyed it, so I'd say it's worth taking the time to read it, but it's not his best, so I wouldn't pay for the hardback.

Libraries are good :)

Robin Hobb
I really appreciate it when I find new authors in the sci-fi genre that I really like and Robin Hobb counts as one of these. She really knows how to drag you into the middle of the story and pull you along with the action. Very Enjoyable books
