Ed came over for drinks last night - hence drunken meme posting ... I think at the point at which I posted those we were only about halfway through the fourth bottle of red wine, but by 3am we'd managed to polish off the fifth. Thankfully for my liver condition this morning Ed drank the lions1 share of bottles 4 and 5, I don't think I've ever seen him quite that drunk.

The plan had been to eat, drink, natter about music and play computer games - but as always when Ed visits we stalled at the 'natter about music' bit until far too drunk to contemplate fast moving games, or indeed slow moving ones. Putting 90-odd gigs of music on shuffle certainly gives you many topics for conversation.

Today didn't start till noon, and if I didn't have a talk to finish writing for work it'd be a complete day of lazy slobbing around. However, I do have to do the talk so at some point I need to get my arse in gear and get on with it.

1I'm not entirely sure where to put the apostrophe on that, so lets just pretend it has one, OK?

Apostrophe

That depends. Did he have one lion's share (quite a lot) or the share that a whole pack of lions would expect? :)

That is assuming, of course, that lions drink wine at all.

But of course not, that's why they/it had given away their share to Ed, surely?

Re: Apostrophe
According to the OED it's "The lion's share"

I can see arguments for either given that lions hunt in prides and solo.

Did you actually get to talk?

I talk about music too ;) Just not quite as obsessively as J or Ed ...

I just wondered if they actually let you get a word in. :)
