J was working from home yesterday, which made the whole day feel a little odd - like I shouldn't be doing housework or something ... I did though ;) I also belatedly remembered the two icon contests that close today and whipped something up to enter. But I spent a largish chunk of the afternoon setting up a del.icio.us account (yes, I know, late to the party or something) - dunno if I'll actually end up using it, but there's the option now, and I went through a lot of the stuff I have bookmarked and added it, so there's some sort of representative sample of Stuff there. This was mostly prompted by reading about Flock, which is a browser that uses del.icio.us as bookmarks (effectively). Not sure how much of that is hype, but maybe worth a look when it arrives.

Dunno why, but I'm really sleepy this morning, so it's making it hard(er) to string coherent thoughts together into interesting prose. Ah well.

Also played some Q3:TA last night - J found 2 maps I barely remember ever playing, and we played on them till our internet connection ground to a halt. We kinda sucked. Challenge. Yes. Or something ;)

a minor problem is level 5 bots that can kill with one rocket.

We weren't playing with level 5 bots, though.

i thought there was 1 to begin with

Actually, I can't remember for sure, now. I think I tweaked I changed the 5 to a 4 before we started, because we didn't know the maps?

Yeah, you're right - I remember being surprised when I checked and there weren't any 5s but we were still being stomped on ;)

i'll host the next set. 13 bots should make for a manic session.

No objections to you hosting it (so long as everyone who wants to play can connect!), but personally I'd rather play with the sort of settings we started with last night - that felt like a good challenge ;)

never did figure out why some people couldnt connect.

i imagine i can trim the bot count a bit, but i do like mayhem. 4 vs 13 is messy. :)

I just started using del.icio.us recently too (though I discovered that I'd signed up my username some time ago). I've been trying to stick to the route of bookmarking stuff there when I read it, rather than specifically adding a bunch of previous bookmarks.

I was wondering about whether one could use del.icio.us as bookmarks in a browser, but can't see much about this 'Flock' on their site. It seems like it would make more sense to have plugins for existing browsers rather than a whole new one to deal with this.

The bit about Flock that I actually read doesn't seem, now I look, to be linked from their front page - it's here. That says a bit more about how they'd like it to be used. But yeah, it seems all hype & no substance right now, so it's hard to tell if it's likely to be useful or just a gimmick. I think I'm inclined towards gimmick at the moment, but a real opinion should probably wait till I've used it ;)
