The Dove Street Inn Beer Festival (Sept 06)
I don't think I've anything interesting to say about the last two days at all. So instead - beer!

There was a beer festival on at The Dove at the beginning of September, so I thought it'd be nice to go there for a few drinks for my birthday. J & I were accompanied by Ainsley, Pauline, Edward, Cheryl & Natalie. And we drank:

Abbeydale Restoration (swapped with J, he didn't like it)
Earl Soham Victoria
Hambleton Stud
Old Mill Nellie Dene

North Yorkshire Flying Herbert
Oulton Ales Sunrise

Abbeydale Restoration

Dark Star Festival Ale
Nethergate Umbel Ale (this tastes of coriander and J & I managed to put everyone else off getting it, except Cheryl - who I think quite liked it)
Oak Leaf Nuptu' Ale
Wychwood Wychcraft

Archers Tickle Your Fancy
Arundel Warm Willie
Saltaire Goldings Ale
Skinners Helligan Honey
Crouch Vale Brewers Gold
Theakstons Old Peculiar
Saxon Ruby Tuesday (cider - I think this is the one that just didn't taste the way one expected, nice, but not expected)
Westons Old Rosie (cider)
Hop Back Summer Lightning
Woodfordes Wherry

Off before we could get to them:
Green Jack Canary
Harviestoun Bitter and Twisted
Mighty Oak Maldon Gold
Oakham JHB
Skinners Cornish Blonde
Triple FFF Rock Lobster
Dark Star Summer Meltdown
Howard Town Bleak Low

Missed out as we were too full:

Fullers London Pride
Greene King Old Speckled Hen
Adnams Broadside

Green Jack Summer Dream
Youngs Bitter

Not bad for a pub beer festival :D Shame it took me so long to write this up as I've complete forgotten what things tasted like ...

I seem to recall having the Ruby Tuesday the last time I was over and having that same impression of it.

What can I say, I think it's quite appropriate that I cause such a startled reaction in people!
