*grin* Don't worry people, I'm not going to actually get my hair cut.

First time I ever had my hair cut I was 11 - and it was kinda weird, even though it was me wanted it cut. Definitely got the whole ghost ponytail thing and I felt so light-headed for ages. I had short hair for 5 years, and it was a lot more trouble - I had to actually style it every day. I currently run a brush through it and put a scrunchie in, and bingo, I'm ready ... I do plait it for work, which still takes a little less time than playing with gel/hair spray etc. It also really really didn't suit me. There aren't any photos from that time around online, so you'll have to take my word for it.

I started growing it out just before my sixteenth birthday, partly because my parents said I had to pay for the hairdressers myself after that, and partly coz I'd realised how much short hair sucked on me.

It's now been growing for 12 years (less a couple of months), and in that time I've only had 9 inches total cut off it (one 8 inch chunk to even up the fringe 6 years ago, another inch a couple of years ago to neaten it up before my wedding). I can sit on it (just).

If I do ever get it cut it'll just be back to halfway down my back. At about that point I can still put it up without breaking my neck, but it's still long.

A meme!
