Plumber duely came, took tap to bits, vanished to buy part, and has ordered part. It'll arrive tomorrow. You were right, Marbs - it was a thermostatic cartridge, and it'll cost £115. Mind you, at least it wasn't a washer replacement, it'd've been annoying to pay £55 to get someone to do a job we should've been able to do. The total bill is gonna be something approaching £250 :/

And I've hoovered, how domesticated. And done some sorting of bits of paper, we now have a box with work stuff of mine, oh and few bits piled on top of it, but I couldn't fit them into the box itself. I started going through the various bits of paper we have, and ought to finish it off, really.

Our tumbledryer is wonderful, and since we got it we've not needed to iron anything :)

Thought it might be. They're easy to replace but at that price you want to be sure that's what you need to do.

You can make them last longer by 'exercising' them weekly (turning from full cold to full hot a few times) - stops limescale building up which stops them closing properly.
